Chip Baskets(Zach Galifianakis) wants to become a professional clown. After he has failed to get a degree at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, France, where he couldn’t speak and understand French, he decides to return to his hometown Bakersfield, California, with his wife Penelope(Sabina Sciubba), who she lives apart of him, a French woman who doesn’t love him and he knows it, and married Chip only so she could live in America.
