Description
In this remarkable drama, real life miners and families were used to tell the story of the 1951 strike against the Empire Zinc Company. Considered to be one of the first films to realistically explore a feminist point of view. During the strike, wives of the workers took their places in the New Mexican mines. This film is notable as many of the cast and crew were later blacklisted.
